ENTREVISTA:
Nic: Alexis e Asphodel se encontraram pela primeira vez em 2007, por intermédio da banda de metal avante-garde ""Carnival in coal". Nesta banda, Alexis tocava bateria e Asphodel era encarregada dos vocais. Depois eles decidiram juntos para criar a banda PUWD. Alexis gravou e mixou algumas músicas com Asphodel durante o verão de 2007 e "2 unlimited" nasceu!
PUWD evoca a decadência de uma estrela e sentimentos esquizofrênicos de cada um de nós.
2) Como os membros da banda trabalha com vários aspectos musicais para criar a identidade única e característica do som da banda PUWD?
Nic: Em primeiro lugar, devo dizer que todos os três da banda são complementares em nossas influências musicais como na nossa contribuição musical para as canções.
Alexis ouve jazz, metal. Ouço música clássica (Bach, Debussy). Asphodel gosta de música mais estranhas...
Alexis é o chefe. Ele pode fazer qualquer coisa com todos os instrumentos. Ele é um baterista, mas ele toca baixo e guitarra também.
Ele sempre diz que o mais importante é a mistura! Você pode sentir isso na música funk "Nearly dead bat make up".
Asphodel tem um universo muito especial. Ela tem mais imaginação e talento.
Eu sou o mais velho e tento trazer alguma serenidade ... melodias de piano doces ou tristes.
3) Quais são as principais questões e dramas existentes nas letras das músicas da PUWD?
Nic: Você deve perguntar a Asphodel ...
4) Fale sobre algum impacto inicial quando vocês lançaram o primeiro álbum <2 UNLIMITED>:
Nic: O que você quer dizer com "impacto"?
O lançamento de "2unlimited" surpreendeu muitos fãs de metal. Alguns deles odiavam e nos culparam dizendo que não éramos uma banda verdadeira de metal. Alguns outros amaram nossas "coisas" e pensei " esta música é tão viciante!".
Acho que o segredo deste álbum se deve as canções cativantes e darks, mistura de acordes e sintetizadores com vocais brutais e power chords de guitarra.
Tocamos metal, mas nós queremos que cada uma de nossas músicas mantenha também seu lado pop.
